Carolina Country Clubs

The Carolinas are steeped in golf lore, now even more so with Phil Mickelson’s historic win at Kiawah Island Resort.

Surprisingly, It is a very tough area to grow grass, being a “transition zone”. Bentgrass greens have issues in the piedmont summers, but the many new bermuda varieties roll amazingly. They are what you will see now on many clubs here, but it does not play like the grainy greens of old. Many mountain courses can keep bent all year.
